Muriwai's Marae Learning Story

Marae Learning Story We walked up to the marae and at the marae we had a welcome. After that, some classes went back to school. We had morning tea and played outside. It was fun. There were lots of things to play like soccer. After play, we did an activity. My first activity was making a star, I made the star out of colored paper. My two colors were blue and yellow. We had lunch, there were free sausages. My second activity was making a tent. I was making the poles. I made sure I was listening to the teacher so I didn’t get lost. In my next activity, the tent our group made was cold. In my third activity I learnt how to weave a flower and then we learnt how to pick out the plant we were weaving with. After that, we went into the wharenui to take our school photos. I wasn’t staying over at the marae so we had to go back to school with the teacher. Muriwai's Art Technology Learning Story

Art Technology Learning Story When we all go to technology on the noisy bus, our group goes to art. In technology week 1 we did art and in art, we folded a piece of paper into 8 pieces, then we cut it.  My shape was a triangle we painted three triangles the three primary colors blue, red and yellow. We painted three triangles the three secondary colors green, purple and orange. I could paint my two other shapes any color. We also made pinch pots out of clay it was fun putting the clay into shape I put an “m” at the front for my name. Skills I used in my art were using good patterns that I liked to make my art look good, and using colors that go together and staying focused so I can finish my art. In art, I learned that there were more ways of drawing art, contour art, and blind art and we had to use that kind of art to draw other art and when we were creating our pinch pot I learnt what clay was made out of dirt and rocks.
